QUICK DEV TIP #24 UE4 - Quick Rename
Did you know that you can use keyboard shortcuts to quickly rename assets?
If you would prefer to watch the video version, check it out here
Normally to rename a file there are two methods: Awkwardly Double Click on an asset (you have to get the timing correct else it opens it or nothing happens) or you can Right-Click and use the Rename option.
However a much quicker and smoother way to do it is to use the keyboard shortcut F2. You can use this pretty much everywhere: assets in the content browser, folders, assets in the scene, custom event blueprint nodes, blueprint variables, blueprint components etc
This is a really quick and easy way to rename things, and one that I use all the time.
